On the 1st of July 2020 the internationalization project "BeCAN - Berlin Chinese Automotive Network" starts at aBB automotive BerlinBrandenburg e.V.
The TOP export products from Berlin and Brandenburg include vehicles, vehicle parts and components.
The automotive sector with its vehicle manufacturers and automotive supplier companies is one of the most important industrial sectors in Berlin and the capital region due to its interlinking with other industrial sectors.
The People's Republic of China as the second largest export partner for the Berlin economy and of increasing economic importance for the Brandenburg economy is today not only one of the largest and most developed sales markets but also the most important strategic market for the German automotive industry.
In addition to developing into the leading international market for electromobility, developments in the field of autonomous driving and new drive technologies, including hydrogen technology, are being massively promoted in China.
As a result of this global technical and technological change in the automotive industry and the resulting changing landscape of actors in supply chains and value creation processes, small and medium-sized structured companies in particular are facing new challenges. At the same time, this also opens up new opportunities for the regional economy in Berlin Brandenburg with their know-how.
This is exactly where the internationalization project BeCAN comes in, as a network for the promotion and support of SMEs in the Berlin Brandenburg capital region for the initiation and implementation of economic cooperation with Chinese companies for the automotive supplier industry.
The main goal of the BeCAN network project is:
- To successfully position Berlin's small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the restructuring international supply and value creation process of the automotive industry.
- To support you in overcoming internationalization barriers, especially with Chinese clients, in order to promote the establishment and development of sustainable international cooperation.
- By initiating supraregional and international cooperation, the existing competitive disadvantages are to be balanced out and the regional value chains are to be integrated into existing and restructuring international supply and production processes. The BeCAN network project is intended to initiate and accompany this process as an active support platform from information to later individual implementation.
The object of the project is to support small and medium-sized companies in the Berlin capital region in the restructuring international supply and value creation process of the automotive industry in overcoming internationalization barriers, especially with Chinese clients, by increasing their intercultural competence.
By establishing and promoting international cooperation with Chinese companies, multipliers in the Chinese regions and industries, it is important to create sustainable conditions for Berlin and Brandenburg companies and their market activities.
